This post is so Australian, I tried to turn my head upside down.

Enjoy the cheap gas while it lasts...which should be a little while. (My bet is on the Saudis keeping production high until shale producers drop out.)

Jesus, that’s just under half the price it is in the U.K.

Enjoy.

Most places around me have it for about £1.00 (supermarket fuel) -1.06 (for brand fuel) a litre, diesel is on average 10p more than unleaded. Which is really good. I recall not too long ago it was sitting at £1.48 a litre.

The tax on fuel maybe high but I don’t think we pay as much emissions taxes as some other countries do in Europe.

It’s a hard to quantify who is better off without looking at similar cars for price of vehicle and cost of ownership such as insurance, emissions tax, fuel prices and like for like repairs over a given time. Also environment. In the U.S. you’d cover more miles to get to and from work while in the U.K. and Europe that distance would be a lot less.

To be honest we’ve got it pretty fair, would we like to pay less, who doesn’t.

In fact I was reading an article on the BBC website earlier on that said fuel prices may dip to as low as £0.90.

As it happens we have diesel for 99.9 cent per litre too - but different cents sadly.

A situation in which everyone wins except the North American oil producers.

That translates to roughly $2.55 usd a gallon. On the highside right for the US right now. Filled up for $1.79 a gallon yesterday which is 70 cents a liter AUD.

We’re at .936 Euro Cents per litre for Diesel here in Belgium.
